ARCHDRC 371 - Digital Fabrication Techniques
-
Pictured are shots from the 3rd year ArchDRC class I co-ordinated at the University of Auckland, School of Architecture

The paper dealt with practices relating to computeraided manufacturing/digital fabrication technologies and computer-aided design (CAAD/ CAM). Its purpose was to expose students to computer-aided methodologies which are becoming more relevant to current architectural thinking. This course was an opportunity to learn and explore techniques and processes that will be useful for Design studio and later on in Practice. Its aim was also to show that there can be a successful merger between analogue and digital processes and that the use of digital technologies does not need to be foreign.
